Garett-bear is now 18 months old and still the apple of Mommy's and Daddy's eye. At his recent pediatrician appointment, Garett weighed in at nearly 25lbs, measured 34in in height (90%), and measured 51cm in head circumference (off the growth chart). Everything we've heard about how active toddler boys can be has proved to be true with our little monkey. Garett is constantly on the go, climbing all over the furniture, moving the furniture, and stealing our hearts with every far too heavy object he tries to lift (he loves to lift weights with Daddy!) He jabbers all the time now in some strange language of his own, though we can pick out a familiar word here and there. His cat Mickey is his constant companion. He loves to kiss Mickey on the nose and give him big bear hugs, poor cat. He is a faithful participant in Storytime at the library, music class, and he just completed swim lessons - what a fish we have! The Swim Lessons Company was actually featured on our local news channel recently and video of one of Garett's lessons made the cut. It was a treat to see him on TV! Above all, Garett is a real comedian - he'll do anything to make us laugh and laugh we do, sometimes until our sides hurt. Below is a little peek at what Garett has been up to lately.

That's my guy - soaking wet and jeans covered in mud from playing football after a Spring rain.

Garett comforts Daddy after watching the final game played by the Louisville Cardinals at Freedom Hall.

Garett works a few puzzles with Grandma Linda.

Garett and Grandpa Greg check out the new baby giraffe at Riverbanks Zoo.

What a beautiful baby! Riverbanks just released his name: Mr. Sandman, "Sandy" for short.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Watching my little man grow brings new meaning to the words of a familiar tune - "when Irish eyes are smilin' short is life no more."

Garett invites a few buddies over for a St. Paddy's fish fry, and the parents attempt to get all the little men together for a group photo. Were we crazy? It was like herding cats! Guess it didn't help that they were all hopped up on cinnamon-sugar sweet potato fries and ice cream. Oops!

Garett's buddy Brennan was kind enough to invite us out on his boat for an afternoon on Lake Murray. Thanks Brennan! We had a blast!

Argh me matey! Garett and Nolan do a little swashbuckling in the backyard.

"I didn't do it Mommy, I swear! The dirt on my hands and face? Completely coincidental."

And the best for last - Garett's "funny face." Just in the last few weeks, Garett has been making this funny face whenever he's mad, confused, or frustrated. Gene finally caught him in act and snapped a quick photo with his iPhone.
