Mmm, mmm, good. Can't you just smell the sweet strawberries in the field? Garett met his buddies Brennan and Connor for a pickin' playdate at Cottle Farm!
It was hot, hot, hot in the field, but those juicy strawberries and the smile on my little guy's berry-stained face made it worth the effort to pick them ourselves.
Rub-a-dub-dub, why is there always sand and dirt in the bottom of Garett's tub? He's all boy, that's why! We spend many afternoons playing baseball in the yard or digging in the sandbox. What are we going to do with this kid when winter falls?
Powertools and toddlers - a dangerous combination - but Daddy seems confident that Garett knows his way around a toolbox well enough to join in a little construction project.

Best friends. Garett and Mickey have bonded this summer while hunting the geckos in our backyard. Mickey is ever so patient with Garett, who tends to play a bit rough. You can tell how much Mickey loves him - in the morning, he lies still so that Garett can kiss him on the head.
A finger-painting project goes awry when Garett decides the garage would look much nicer in a bright shade of purple. What a mess!

Back to Cottle Farm with Grandma one last time before the end of the strawberry season. It's a good thing they are closing up - I'm running out of ideas for using the strawberries - strawberry bread, strawberry pie, strawberry jam, what next? Blueberry season begins in July. Can't wait! We'll have blueberry muffins, blueberry pie, blueberry cobbler...
