We celebrated New Year's Eve (and my 32nd birthday) at First Night in Raleigh. What a great festival - musicians, street performers, parade, state fair food and free access to all the museums in downtown Raleigh! What more could a birthday girl want than a day out with her boys, plus a piping hot funnel cake to make a wish on?
Garett and Daddy watch the acrobats of La Cirque perform a ropes and hoops routine. Afterward, we headed to the history and science museum for Garett to see the dinosaur exhibit.
At the top right of this picture you'll see "the acorn" hovering above Main Street, readying itself for an early (READ: we're too old to be out at midnight with a preschooler) New Year's Eve countdown. Garett was a bit overwhelmed by the massive crowd, but once the countdown began and the acorn started to drop, he was riveted!
