Garett's First Week at Home

Garett relaxing in his Moses basket, which belonged to his mommy as a baby.

Our little "Garett bear" catching a snooze in his swing. Boy is this contraption a life-saver!

Getting a little quality daddy-baby time in the nursery. Gene is the best dad a little man could hope for!

What a cutie-pie!

Garett gets his first bath at home. Just like in the hospital, he wasn't crazy about the bath, but he loved having his hair washed and brushed.

We clean up pretty nice, huh?

All dressed and pressed after his first bath. Check out those sneaker socks!

Mommy loves to smooch baby Garett's toes!

Garett all geared up for his first University of Louisville football game, and he's obviously thrilled with the quality of this year's offensive line. Don't worry buddy, there's always basketball season to look forward to!

Our friends Andy and Stephanie came over to watch the UofL game and to visit with Garett. It seems like only yesterday their little girl Abigail was as small as Garett!

Garett is one week old today! We celebrated with a little cake and champagne.

Daddy took time off from work to go with mommy to Garett's first pediatrician appointment.

Mommy and Garett at Dr. Sooros's office, where Garett got a clean bill of health! Garett is wearing a daygown that once belonged to his daddy and the handmade booties he wore home from the hospital.

Garett loves to snuggle on Gene's chest. Whenever he gets fussy, I just hand him over to Gene. He curls up on Gene's chest and, within minutes, he is soothed to sleep!

Sleeping angel...

Garett playing with daddy and the rattle daddy bought for Garett before he was born. We were surprised when Garett grasped the rattle right away and gave it a shake. His onesie says "GENIOUS." Coincidence?

Gene likes to call this photo "The Paternity Test." Sometimes I wonder if this child got any of my genes, other than my long fingers and toes.

Garett and mommy snuggle and snooze. Mimi babysat Garett that night so that Gene and I could go out for dinner, just the two of us. We only called home once while we were gone!
