Where did Christmas go? I feel like I barely took a breath after Thanksgiving and
whoosh! it was New Year's Eve! Our holidays were wonderful this year - lots of time spent with loved ones and lots of time spent just loving one another. It was so much fun to see Garett experience Christmas this year. He loved seeing all the Christmas lights, opening presents (of course), watching "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," and singing "Jingle Bells" - we are, in fact, still playing The Chipmunks cd in our car. Thank you to all of our family and friends for making Christmas such a special time for us all. Above is a picture of Garett on the day we picked out our Christmas tree, and below are lots of pictures from our holiday adventures. Enjoy!

Vroom, vroom! A little early Christmas present from Grandma and PaPa - Garett's first big boy bed. The night Daddy put it together, Garett ran into the room and screamed "McQueen," then went straight to jumping up and down on the bed. Here he is giving his bed a big goodnight kiss.

A quiet Christmas Eve at home, what more could you want? We had a warm bowl of soup for dinner and opened presents by the fire.

Mommy and Garett making a plate for Santa (cookies, bourbon balls, milk) and his reindeer (carrots and celery). Yes, Mommy is wearing reindeer antlers. Not the silliest thing I've ever done to get a laugh out of my little boy, but close.

Christmas Day! Turns out Garett was a good boy this year, despite the occasional (yeah, right) time-out.

Garett had been asking for a "choo-choo" all month long, but when he walked into the living room and saw a big train table sitting there, he was truly shocked. He walked around and around it, in awe. Thomas, Percy and James are now his constant companions!

Poor baby. Garett fell sound asleep on the couch while we were packing to leave for Pinehurst. Notice the flushed nose and cheeks? Yep, he was getting sick. All three of us had combo tummy bugs and head colds over the next week.

Snow in Pinehurst! Perfect for building snowmen...

and making snowballs.

Garett and Daddy put a few miles on Garett's new Tonka fleet.

Ice in Nashville! It's my family's Christmas tradition to visit the carved ice display at the Opryland Hotel, followed by dinner at PF Changs. It was an amazing display, but Garett tuckered out pretty quickly.

Handsome devil.

Making an igloo with Daddy at the (manufactured) snow drift at the Opryland Hotel.

And the best part of our day at Opryland? Getting up close and personal with real reindeer. They are adorable! Much smaller than I thought they'd be, but their antlers give them such majesty.
MiMi outfits her boys with new racecar backpacks.

Garett gets acquainted with Miss Sunshine, the newest addition to my sister's family.

Sorry cousin Caroline, looks like Garett's stolen your Ugg boots and isn't going to give them up without a fight!

Hey Justin and Bri, what do you think about Garett's bid for next year's winner of the Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest? Ho Ho Ho!
